Services built around how markets actually work

Weekend workshops in Woodstock, after-school clubs for high school learners, an online cohort for first-time earners, and a plain-language blog. Each format covers the same ground: reading a share price, why diversification matters, how inflation erodes savings, and where long-term holding ends and speculation begins.

Ways to learn with us

Three formats, same material. Pick the one that fits your week, your travel and how much you already know. Every route ends with a written exercise built from a real public company report, not a worksheet we invented.

Saturday workshop, Woodstock

A four-hour session on a Saturday morning, capped at eighteen people so questions actually get answered. We work through a share price quote line by line, then split into pairs to read a listed company's annual report.

  • Reading price, bid, ask and volume
  • Why spreading money across sectors matters
  • What inflation does to a savings balance
  • Bring a notebook; laptops optional

Best for Grade 10 and up, plus anyone who prefers a room and a facilitator over a screen.

After-school club

Weekly ninety-minute meetings through the school term, run with a teacher and a working analyst. Slower pace, more repetition, and a short task each week so the ideas settle instead of sliding past.

  • Budgeting on a first salary
  • How companies earn money and report it
  • Long-term holding versus quick-money pitches
  • Term project: track one company for eight weeks

Runs at partner schools. If your school is not on the list yet, ask us what it takes to start one.

Online cohort and workbook

For people outside Cape Town or with clashing schedules. Six recorded modules, a live question session every second week, and the free starter workbook you can work through before joining anything.

  • Self-paced modules, roughly two hours each
  • Plain-language notes, no signal groups
  • Exercises using public company reports
  • Workbook works on its own, no account needed

We do not give stock picks or promises of returns. The point is understanding, and knowing what can go wrong.

Start with a sample lesson

Not sure which fits? Read how inflation quietly shrinks a first salary first, then decide.

What our sessions are, and what they are not

A few boundaries we hold to across every workshop, club meeting and workbook page. They exist so nobody arrives expecting something we do not offer.

Education, not advice

Facilitators explain how markets, listings and company reports work. They do not tell anyone what to buy, hold or sell, and they do not comment on individual portfolios brought to a session.

No tips, no signal groups

We do not run chat groups, share screenshots of gains or pass along leads. If a pitch reaches you using our name alongside a promise of quick returns, it did not come from us.

Risk is part of the material

Every module covers what can go wrong: prices fall, companies fail, and money placed in markets can be lost. We treat that as core content, not a footnote at the end.

Who the sessions suit

Students, first-time earners and anyone starting from zero. Prior reading of financial news is not assumed. If you already work in markets full time, the beginner track will move too slowly.

Attendance and materials

Saturday sessions in Woodstock run in fixed blocks and seats are limited by room size. The online cohort follows the same modules. Workbooks are yours to keep and reuse at your own pace.

How we define terms

When we say long-term holding, we mean positions measured in years, not weeks. When we say speculation, we mean decisions driven by price movement alone, without reading the business behind it.

Questions about a specific module, the level it assumes or whether it fits your situation can go to the team before you sign up. Reach us at info@wallstrreetheroes.com or call 0577325848.

How a session with us runs, from first question to finished exercise

Every workshop, club meeting and online cohort follows the same route. Nothing is sold in the room, no signals are shared, and each stage ends with something you can hold in your hand: a marked-up report, a budget sheet, a written answer.

  1. Step 1

You tell us what you already know

A short intake form asks whether you have ever read an annual report, whether you earn a salary yet, and what confused you last time you looked at a price page. It takes about five minutes and decides which group you join.

  2. Step 2

We place you in a group that fits

Saturday sessions in Woodstock run in small rooms of twelve. The online cohort meets on weekday evenings for people outside Cape Town. After-school clubs follow the school term, so Grade 10 to 12 learners are grouped by year.

  3. Step 3

The module is taught in plain language

A working analyst, accountant or teacher walks through one topic: reading a share price, why diversification matters, how inflation erodes savings, or budgeting on a first salary. Whiteboard diagrams, no jargon, questions allowed at any point.

  4. Step 4

You work through a real company report

Each module closes with a practical exercise using a public annual report. You find the revenue line, compare it to the previous year, and write two sentences on what changed. Facilitators mark it and hand it back the following week.

  5. Step 5

You leave with a written takeaway

A one-page summary of what the group covered, plus the starter workbook if you have not downloaded it yet. It is yours to keep and reuse. We do not follow up with pitches or product offers.

  6. Step 6

    You decide what comes next

Some people stop after one module. Others return for the next topic or bring a friend. If you want to keep reading between sessions, the blog covers share prices and inflation in the same plain tone.

Not sure which format suits you? Read how to read a share price without the jargon or ask us directly before you book a seat.
