How a Wallstreet Heroes module actually runs, from sign-up to the closing exercise

The order is the same whether you join a Saturday session in Woodstock or the online cohort: a short intake, a taught block, a working break, then a written exercise built on a public company report. Here is what each stage asks of you, how long it takes, and where the facilitators hand the work back to you.

How a cohort actually runs, week by week

Every intake follows the same sequence, whether it meets on a Saturday in Woodstock or online. The dates below are the fixed points; the work in between is what decides whether the module lands.

  1. Week 1

    First Saturday, 09:00

Reading a listing page out loud

We open a public company report on the whiteboard and take it apart line by line: last traded price, bid and ask, the day range, and the volume sitting behind the move. Nobody leaves until they can explain why a low share price says nothing about whether a business is cheap.

  2. Week 2

    Midweek club, 15:30

    Where a first salary goes

After-school session on budgeting. We track one month of real spending across transport, data, food and rent, then compare it to the same basket a year earlier. The point is not to shame anyone's choices, it is to make the gap between a paycheque and rising prices visible on paper.

  3. Week 3

    Saturday, 09:00

    Diversification, without the poster

A facilitator who works as an analyst walks through why spreading money across sectors and regions changes the shape of a bad year. We use two company reports from different industries and let the group argue about which one carries more risk. Disagreement is welcome here.

  4. Week 4

    Final Saturday, 09:00

    Holding versus hype

We close with a checklist for spotting pitches that sell a story instead of a business: urgency, screenshots instead of documents, and no mention of what can go wrong. Each participant finishes a one-page exercise matching a quote to the company behind it, using a report they picked themselves.

Miss a session and you can catch the online cohort, which runs the same four modules on a rolling schedule. The workbook stays the same either way.

Clarifications and Conditions

A few points come up in almost every session, so we write them down here. They apply to every workshop, club meeting and online cohort, and they set the terms under which we run the programme.

What we teach, and what we do not

Our material explains how markets, companies and economies work. We do not give stock picks, we do not run signal groups, and we do not hand out buy or sell calls. If a facilitator is asked which share to choose, the answer is that the decision stays with the person and their own reading.

No outcome is promised

Attending a module does not guarantee a return, a job or a profit. Prices move in both directions, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something else. We would rather you leave with questions than with a false sense of certainty.

Who the sessions are for

The programme is built for students and first-time earners with little or no background in markets. No prior reading is required. If you already work in the field, the introductory modules will likely cover ground you know.

Facilitator background

Sessions are led by working analysts, accountants and teachers who volunteer their weekend time. They speak in their own capacity and not on behalf of any employer, and they do not promote products or platforms during a module.

Materials and exercises

Each module closes with a practical exercise using public company reports and published price data. The starter workbook is free to download and can be worked through before you attend anything. Bring a pen and something to write on.

Attendance and scheduling

Weekend sessions run in Woodstock and the online cohort follows the same outline. Places are limited by room size and facilitator numbers, so a confirmed booking is required. If you cannot make a date, let us know and we will move you to the next one.
